The 2017 is the 28th year after Mr. Cheng Nan-jung sacrificed himself for freedom of speech. In memory of Mr. Cheng, and to cherish priceless freedom of speech, Tainan City Government plans a series of activities named after “gua tsu-tiunn”, which implies “I advocate” in English. Activities including movie show, lectures, music, drama etc. will last from April 5th to 9th. A press conference was held on March 27th with Mayor Lai as one of the attendee. The mayor shared the thoughts that freedom of speech is a basic human right should be cherished, protected, and inherited by mankind.
