Attendants of Urban Forum Decided by “Citizen Selection”

Two hundred citizens were randomly selected from the enrolment list for “Open Decision-making for the Selection of New City Hall Location” on Nov. 11. The organiser invited a reliable third party to supervise and ensure the fairness of the selection procedure, and citizens who are concerned with this issue also attended the event.

The Citizen Selection process took place in Tainan City Hall’s Urban Planning Commission meeting room, and was held by NAPCU under the commission of Tainan City Government. To ensure the fairness of the procedure, the organiser also provided webcast during the selection process.

According to the RDEC, the forum received 381 applications before its due date on Nov. 9. We selected 200 citizens based on age, gender, education and other socio-demographic variables at the end with 75 candidates being placed on the waiting list. Tainan City Government will contact the selected 200 citizens before Nov. 11 and the final attendance list will be announced on the website on Nov. 14th.
