In order to create an open government which is supervised by the citizens, the Tainan
City Government promotes OPEN 1999 proactively. From now on, OPEN 1999 beta will be
online. In this version, you can know information for all the cases. Besides, you can also check
the most popular cases and common questions. The website provides immediate problem
support for you.
Tainan City Government takes Europe and the U.S.A. as the role model during the
development of OPEN 1999. The project includes two phases. First is the open data. Citizens
can understand how we improve the appearance of the Tainan city, and inspect our result and
efficiency. So far, the city government has revealed 35 dispatching cases since Apr. 15, 2015,
which are the kind of cases that got reported frequently. The city government will try to reveal
all cases in the future.
Second is simple and efficient service. The city government will provide a convenient and
omnivorous access to report problems. The upcoming application, 1999App, provides clean
and easy to use user interface for citizens to report problems.
Besides, the core value of OPEN 1999 is that it releases the API. The Tainan City
Government refers to the OPEN311 plan from America and constructs a standard format. Via
the API, citizens can use all the open data and develop their own applications.
